Role Overview

Sugar23 is seeking an experienced Video Editor to create high-impact sizzles and rip reels across scripted and unscripted projects and studio slates.

This role will focus on developing compelling video assets for buyers, and brands. The ideal candidate is highly skilled at shaping narrative from raw footage and creating fast-paced, emotionally engaging, music-driven edits.

Key Responsibilities

·       Lead the creative development and editorial execution of sales sizzles and rip reels

·       Collaborate with producers, project leads, internal stakeholders, and vendors

·       Shape narrative, tone, and pacing for both scripted and unscripted concepts

·       Make creative decisions regarding story, music and visual approach

·       Source and integrate music, archival footage, and visual elements to storytelling

·       Design and execute motion graphics and text treatments that enhance overall creative

·       Deliver polished final cuts, including color correction and sound mix

·       Manage projects from concept through delivery, ensuring a cohesive creative vision throughout

·       Help implement an efficient system for media sharing and storage.

Qualifications

·       4+ years of professional video editing experience

·       Strong portfolio demonstrating: Sizzle reels, Trailers or promotional content, Pitch or development materials

·       Excellent sense of story, pacing, and music driven editing

·       Demonstrated ability to craft narrative and shape story from raw material

·       Ability to work independently and exercise creative judgement in a fast paced environment

·       Strong technical foundation across both editing and assistant editing workflows

·       Applications without relevant sizzle or trailer work will not be considered.

Technical Skills

• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro

• Working knowledge of Adobe After Effects or similar tools (motion graphics and text animation)

• Working knowledge of DaVinci Resolve or similar tools for color workflows

• Experience with:

  • Media ingest and organization

  • Remote and shared workflows

  • Codecs, exports, and delivery specifications

  • Editor level color correction and sound mixing

Preferred Qualifications

·       Experience working across both Scripted and Unscripted Content

·       Familiarity with archival heavy “rip reel” workflows

·       Based in Los Angeles or Nashville

Compensation

·       Full time, benefits eligible position

·       Salary: $80K-$100K (commensurate with experience)
